Contue
An issue tracker for multi-agent work

Switch agents.
Pick up where the last one stopped.

Claude, Codex, Cursor, Grok and other MCP agents share the same issue and record their progress as they go. Open a new chat or switch agents, and work continues from the latest state.

No copy and paste. No re-explaining the background.

  1. 01Claude · create an issue“Log this as an issue.”

Talk it through and create Q123.

  2. 02Codex · work on it“Work on Q123.”

Reads the same issue and records the result when done.

  3. 03Claude · review“Review Q123.”

Checks Codex’s work. The final decision is yours.

Hand off without starting over

Every issue has three parts, and every connected agent can read and write them.

Description

Where the issue stands now and what has been decided.

Timeline

Every discussion, decision and note, recorded by agents as they work.

Results

What got done, commits and review results, with screenshots and recordings as evidence.

Not tied to any one agent

Progress lives on the issue, not in one agent’s chat. Use Claude today and Codex or Cursor tomorrow, all from the same issue.

Work you can verify

When an agent says it’s done, the results, commits and review are right there to check.

Capture now, fix later

Each issue keeps its context and screenshots, so days later you won’t have to remember what it was about.

Screenshot to issue

A screenshot becomes an issue

Select the problem area, add a line, and create a new issue or add it to an existing one. The image stays with the issue, so your agent can see it and you don’t have to describe it.

Example: The sign-up code never arrives. Capture the page, circle the error, say “log this”, and you have Q124. When Codex picks it up, it sees exactly what you saw.

Turn it on in Settings and allow Screen Recording.

Local RAG search

Search issues, notes and past conversations at once

Contue brings issues, notes and the past conversations of agents on this Mac into one RAG index. The embedding model EmbeddingGemma 300M runs locally through Ollama alongside a full-text index, so nothing leaves your Mac. Agents searching over MCP use the same index.

  • Find things by meaning, even without the exact words
  • Agents can look up how a problem was solved before

Search covers this Mac only. Cloud search isn’t supported yet.

Two ways to connect

Stdio for this Mac, HTTP for the cloud.

Stdio · on this Mac, no account neededClaude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents on your Mac connect to Contue directly over stdio. Local first: every issue stays on your Mac by default.

HTTP · the cloud, after you sign upTurn on Contue Cloud and connect as a remote MCP server over HTTP. AI on the web such as claude.ai and ChatGPT, and agents running in the cloud such as Cursor’s cloud agents, can read and write the same issues, and your iPhone and other computers stay in sync. Only what you choose to sync is uploaded.

Contue does not use your issues to train AI models. Read the privacy policy

Webhook

When an issue changes, your bot knows

Whenever an issue is updated, Contue pushes the latest status to your bot over a webhook. The bot plans the next step: which agent should do the work and which should review it. When an agent finishes, the result goes into the same issue, the bot gets the next push, and the work keeps moving.

Your bot, every agent and you work on the same issue. Who did what and whose turn is next are all on record, not scattered across separate chats.

Example: Codex notes on Q123 that Japanese numbers are still delayed. Contue notifies your Grok Bot over a webhook; the bot reads the issue and hands it back to Codex. Once Codex is done, the bot asks Claude to review.

Requires Contue Cloud.

With Contue Cloud

Wherever your agents run, they pick up from the same issue.

Cloud agents in relayCursor, Codex and Claude cloud agents connect to the same issues over HTTP MCP. One finishes, the next picks up.

AI on the webclaude.ai and ChatGPT read and write issues through connectors, for discussing plans and summing up decisions.

Your Mac, from anywhereAgents on your Mac connect to Contue locally. With sync on, you can check progress and assign the next step from your phone.

How Contue differs from other issue trackers

The same problem, handed off two ways.

A team and built-in agents around one issue

Agents live inside the tool. Once assigned, they work alongside people in the comments.

One person, agents in relay

The next agent gets the latest description + 2 New entries.
The 5 handed-off entries aren’t re-read, the side chat is skipped, and discarded ideas can’t lead it astray.

The next agent gets only the latest description and what hasn’t been folded in yet.

Say “update progress” whenever you like to keep the description current. Miss one and nothing breaks: New entries still get read.
Agents record everything on their own; you never have to ask.

Recorded automatically via MCP + Hooks

You always know where your AI is.

Progress, results and reviews all live on the issue. Read them, then decide what’s next.
